Mark Patchett

Founder/Managing Director

Mark brings over 35 years of professional experience in community engagement, development, and empowerment, having worked in diverse urban and rural settings across the UK. He is a recognised specialist in establishing locally managed stewardship Trusts, with a strong reputation for ”making things happen”—whether through strategic and business planning with a wide range of stakeholders or leading organisational change within voluntary and community sectors.

Over the last  24 years, Mark has led more than 150 assignments across the public, private, and charitable sectors. His clients have included major public authorities, private developers, housing associations, regeneration partnerships, and a broad spectrum of community organisations, from national charities to grassroots groups. Many of these projects involved business planning and the creation of new charitable Trusts to manage public assets and support emerging communities.

A pioneer in exploring alternative models of community management for over three decades, Mark has played a central role in shaping and implementing local stewardship structures in areas such as Ashford, Caterham, Chichester, Chelsey, Edgware, Greenford, Luton, Manor House, and most recently, Cirencester. He has also provided expert advice on numerous other initiatives nationwide.

His hands-on experience includes planning, designing, commissioning, and managing community facilities across a wide range of contexts—from a £7 million multi-purpose community hub to a village hall in a rural coalfield. Each project is tailored to local needs, with bespoke governance and management models that ensure viability and long-term sustainability.

Mark is also a passionate social entrepreneur, having founded and chaired several charitable and voluntary organisations. In 2003, he co-founded Transformation Powerhouse, a charitable enterprise based in East London supporting women survivors of sexual abuse, where he continues to serve as Executive Chair.
