Craig is a passionate community and placemaking specialist, committed to improving the quality of life for people and communities. He has over 16 years’ experience working with communities across local government, the voluntary and community sector, and consultancy.
Most recently, Craig has worked in stewardship and placemaking consultancy, supporting the development of charitable organisations to take ownership and manage community facilities and public open spaces.
Prior to this, he led the corporate strategy function within a London borough, with responsibility for setting long-term strategic direction, managing strategic partnerships, and driving corporate improvement. This has given him a strong understanding of the national and local policy and operating context for local government.
Earlier in his career, Craig led the Communities function for a London borough, overseeing a £4.5 million grants programme, support for the voluntary and community sector, and community engagement, including the management of community facilities.
Through this experience, Craig has developed the key skills required for this project, including influencing elected members and senior officers, producing high-quality evidence-based reports, managing high-profile projects and excellent research and engagement skills.
