Darren Rodwell

Inclusive Growth Consultancy was established to extend the transformative legacy of
Darren Rodwell, whose decade as Leader of Barking and Dagenham Council
positioned the borough as a national exemplar of inclusive, sustainable urban
regeneration. His leadership demonstrated how strategic planning, community-
centred development, and strong public–private collaboration can deliver safe,
affordable neighbourhoods where residents thrive and essential services are
accessible locally. Building on this foundation, the consultancy designs and
implements inclusive growth strategies at local, regional, and national levels,
applying a robust analytical model that integrates local and national data with a
structured diagnostic process to identify place-specific growth levers. Rodwell’s
expertise—recognised across the UK through mentoring roles with London Councils
and the Local Government Association—also informed the development of an
innovative cross-sector framework with New London Architecture, uniting 80 public,
private, and voluntary organisations to attract international investment. His wider
contributions span initiatives such as Thames Freeport, the Kerslake Commission,
and The Community Housing Commission. Today, Inclusive Growth Consultancy
